Hey I have the swap magic and slide card on a version 9/10 ps2. I am using the dvd loader to get my backup of splinter cell to work. This is how I did it:

    1. I booted the swap magic 2 dvd
    2. Once it loaded I swaped it with the dvd loader by using the slide card and pressed x
    3. Once it loader I pressed x to get to the sub meny.
    4. I then swaped the dvd loader with my splinter cell backup using the slide card
    5. I selected Beta 3 for Splinter cell and pressed x
    6. I got a red border and nothing happened

Am I doing it wrong??? If so how should I do it? If not could my problem simply be that my backup of splinter cell is a marginal burn.
Also I downloaded the dvd loader from this site http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11133.g I downloaded the dvdloaderv7all.rar file. Thanx in advance.

Using the method that you are using to burn this backup, have you had any other backups that worked? B/c I am thinking that it may be your actual backup disc.

Splinter cell is the only one. I'll try my Max Payne backup and let you know.

I just made a perfect copy of Max Payne. I burned it at 1x using dvd decrypter to a fujifilm dvd+r. I even had it varify the sectors after the burn. Just to make sure it was a good burn I booted it just from the Swap Magic and it went straight to blue (of course without the dvd loader it didn't even get to the opening video.) So it was definately a good burn. However, when I tried to boot it with the dvd loader I still got a red border. This means that I am using the dvd loader incorectly or there is a bug in the dvd loader that I downloaded. Is there anybody who uses the dvd loader and it works for them? If so How [bold]exactly[/bold] do you use it to boot your backups and where did you get if? Thanks :)

    try this way
    1.boot swapmagic dvd
2.swap for dvd loader by flip/slide press x
3.dvd loader boots press x for sub menu select the option you want press x
4.press eject remove dvd loader and swap for swapmagic dvd or high toc orignal game press eject again(to send disc back in) and wait for it to say ps2 dvd in lower left of tv screen
5.press x and wait for it to say swap by ea method
6.at ea prompt swap with backup by slide/flip and press x
    7.your backup should now boot

    hope this helps
