will someone explain what HDMI is? thx.
very own afterdawn defination: http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/hdmi.cfm
my own opionion:
HDMI is bascally a rip off standard that was somehow adpoted as the standard for HD content. why rip off i say? HDMI is a registered trademark so any device that use it will need to pay the HDMI people a royalty. Before, the standard RCA plugs are free to use for any company.
and last but not least Why the hell do i see $100 HDMI cables?
They're so damn high for the same reason Verbatim's are. Quality costs.
Actually, it has nothing to do with quality. These cables are actually dirt cheap to make, the creator decided they were so simple and cheap to make, that he decided to fill them with blow, just to inflate the cost. Now, that didn't take to well over here in the states, what with customs and all; so they just keep up the tradition by charging us more, after all it's the thought that counts, right?
lol. I'm sorry, I still can't get over a cable that's three feet long, and costs $100. If it's quality, it better be so good it literally leaps off the screen, cooks me dinner, and gets a job to pay for itself.
EXACTLY That's why MONSTER anything SUCKS!
That is where I get all my HDMI cables, They work great. I have a 35' cable going from my PS3 to my projector and the image is amazing!
yea i was also about to say that there really cheap on wholesale sites and ebay...
only stores and other places have them jacked up in price like at circuit city and bestbuy i believe there $130 which is crazy..
I have bought 4 cables from the site I listed... Fast Shipping to.
But that Denon reciever doesn't.
Denon is actually making something that others don't offer. Monster makes cables... well so dose Phillips and they are the same quality but much less.
so im still kinda confused if you have an HDTV and you have the xbxox with the HDMI plugin you can get 1080p? sorry im a real noob at tv stuff.
Yes assuming that your TV is 1080p capable.
oh ok I was just wondering becuase the tv im getting probably doesnt I don't have the exact model number of the tv but it's a samsung 23 inch HD ready LCD so I don't know but the guy said it's a really good one for the 360 so thats why im getting this one.
If you can post a link of the TV that would be great!
k I Found it
well, you will not get 1080P, but you can get 1080i
you would probably not notice the differnce unless you were a total tech head.(1080i is an interlaced picture while 1080P is in progressive mode) MY samsung is running my 360 through VGA on 1080I and the picture looks amazing. With that TV you would have to wait for the HDMI version of the 360 to get the best picture, since it doesn't have VGA. It does have component inputs for the standard cables but the stock cables that come with a console are never going to be the best you can make it look.
You won't get 1080p, but you will get 1080i, wich will be fine for the size of that TV. If you were to have a TV over 40 inches you would want 1080p
ok thanks for your help guys.
omg this is the first time ive had my 360 on an HDTV it's awesome!!!! and now I have a 23 inch computer monitor =]
