I'm trying to figure out what I need for copying xbox games ....I have alcohol 120 and have tried burning copys but haven't had any luck. I'm not sure if I'm selecting the right file type or if I need to modify the xbox for the copys to work. If any one can help me here it would be appricated.

first of all, you need a modchip install in your xbox.

Do you have a modchip installed?

if yes, then you can find out how to play backup games in this forum. Other threads will have all the answer you need to do this.

if no, then stop backing up your games until you have install the modchip.

ok, so you are saying that the original Microsoft dashboard will let you copy the game straight to your PC?

darn, I must have slept or something, why the heck did I spent time installing a modchip. :(

    :rolls eyes:

Guess I wasted my money too. Wish I'd know this before hand.

    What you DO need..
    1) mod chip
    2) hacked BIOS
    3) dashboard (ie.. Evox is good for newbies)
    4) NIC
    5) ethernet cable (if you have a hub/router/switch), crossover cable (if you want to hook the xbox up directly to your PC
    6) XISO extracting/creating software (ie.. Qwix, Craxtion, Xiso Manager)
    7) burning software (ie.. Nero, DVD Decrypter)
    8) knowledge

By dl if you mean put games in your hard drive you just bassicaly put it in your drive and copy to hard drive like for music cd's as well.

But if you mean dl by like download like from a site then you gotta connect to ur xbox and pc dl it and transfer to xbox, but I don't trust sites when downloading games because they can be incomplete or something.
    I like to backup myself.
