I turned on my xbox the other day and a screen in 6 languages came up and said,"Your Xbox requires Service. Please call Xbox Support." i didn't have a number in the corner which would state my problem, and i am almost positive i need a new hard drive. does anyone know if hard-drives require xbox memory and need to be bought custom or can i buy any hard drive, if yes, does anyone recommend a better drive then WD-8000EB?

I assume you've been messing about with the x-box since you know its definetly the hard disc.

In order to install a new hard disc you need to copy the system files from the old one.So it isn't an option unless you did a back up.

But I'm assuming your warranty is void otherwise you would just phone microsoft n get a new one.
