    You're all probably going to find this a very stuipid question but i recently read a Xbox networking tutorial and it said to "make sure your xbox IP is static," what does this mean?

    Thanks.

    it means to go into your dash's network settings (you do have a new dash...right?) and make sure it says somewhere something like "IP: Static" instead of "IP: DHCP".
    static means that it doesn't change between connections

    static
    adj 1: not active or moving;

    I've never used a static IP and mine always works.
