The new XGD3 game discs require the new 0800 firmware to be flashed to an official phat 360 drive (either lite-on or benq). You'll need a New burner (Lite-on iHAS model drive) that you can get on newegg or another similar site/store for around $20-$30 shipped. You'll need burnermax firmware for the new iHAS drive, so you can actually write the extra data that is on the new XGD3 discs. Also, you have to set a different layer break in imgburn settings (2133520) for XGD3 discs. XGD2 games still burn with a 1913760 layer break. It sounds like you need to update to the latest dashboard, and flash your 360's drive with LT3 (assuming you don't have an older Hitachi pre 78/79 or a Samsung drive (In earlier phat models). In that case, you would need LT2 for Hitachi, and LT2.01 for Samsung. If you have a 78/79 version of the Hitachi, you're going to be waiting as c4 hasn't released firmware for those revisions yet. You can find the files that you need in the usual places. In any event, good luck!

...or a DROM6316, if you mod the eject button. The hardware is the same as a BenQ drive, but they were built for Dell computers, so these drives are the only true internal drives that can copy XGD3 games.
Here's a link to a tutorial on how to modify the eject button:
    http://www.xbox360iso.com/drom6316-pc-internal-t496730.html
I did the one without the cutting, you have to desolder the drive motor anyways to remove the board, so turning it around 180 degrees actually saves you some time.
Here they get sold for 70 US$ premodified:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/DROM6316-97...955?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a76095bb3
It's cheaper than buying the stuff needed to connect an internal xbox 360 driva via usb (and the internal xbox 360 drive, if you don't have a 2nd one already), but still expensive in my oppinion, I got mine unmodified for 10 Euro and a 2nd one for spares for 4.99 Euro (the 2nd one isn't modified yet).

Damn....that dude on eBay went up in price, I got my DROM6316 from him just a couple months back for about 40 US$. Dont fret, though, buy it because it does work flawlessly.
