I know this might be a dumb question but, can I play online safely when I do this? By "safely" I mean as safe as possible with a modded system.

Awesome! Thanks for the post Modking. I heard something about this earlier today. I have Modern Warfare 3 working again. I'll try some more games tomorrow.

ok my question is the same as the person above.

i cannot play mw3 at all anymore.

i would like to play online.

ok i know there is banwaves and all that milarky..

is this "as safe as it can be" to play online OR (and a big bold "OR")

is microsoft for sure updating the dae.bin in the background (therefore keep offline until further notice?)

No TU for Battlefield 3 on the site.Would Battlefield be affected by the silent update? Has anybody come across a problem?

I am sure a better workaround will be released. You may need to clear system cache

not sure how this one is worked?

i tried to do this and i cleared my cache.

no joy although when i do boot the xbox with the USB Stick in it does say "An update is available for this game" where it doesnt if the stick isnt in..

then if i cancel / agree to it, it boots the game off to a "disc not supported"

    any suggestions?

PS: I just copied and pasted the file onto memory stick and put into the front of the xbox and then booted the game and still gets error?

    FIXED: See next post!

Hi guy's, ok after digging around, i've found a solution and will compile a step-by-step for people who may be in the same situation as me (newbie to usb and xbox360)!

(Taken from afterdawn website via this thread, xbuc and pothsprojects)

How do I get those updates on my XBOX 360 console?

Update your XBOX 360 console to the latest dashboard version
Get yourself an usb stick with at least 1GB capacity
Format it as a XBOX 360 Memory Unit on your XBOX 360 console via 'Dashboard/System/Storage'
Connect your usb stick to your PC

Download the TU file for MW3 HERE
    Download HORIZON HERE
Unzip both files and add to desktop (or somewhere of your choice for now)

    Run HORIZON
Drag and Drop TU file onto HORIZON window
On the MW3 dialog that appears, click Save To Device and then select device (which is your USB)

Insert USB into xbox360 and play MW3!

    Side note:
On the xbuc website there is plenty of information if you check the FAQs

That's not any different than the link I provided. You should be current on your dash regardless
