Hey, I'm new at this stuff, and would really appreciate the help :-/. I was wondering if a movie was a xvid. Do i have to encode it to .avi, than encode it again to DVD-NTSC?. Than after all those steps are done, how would i be able to burn it inorder to make it play on the dvd-player? Thanks :)

What i forgot to say was. When i tried it. I Encoded the Xvid directly to NTSC, than went on nero and burned it. I'm guessing that i did it totally wrong because when i put the disc into the dvd player the player just opend back up. :-/

Avi is sort of like a package name for movies encoded in different formats (e.g. xvid, divx). Anyway, my experinece has been that Nero can work with xvids very well, so you may not need to encode at all before using Nero. At Nero Vision Express: click 'make dvd' then 'dvd video', then 'add video files' to add the xvids.
    Good luck!
