I have a few xvids that don't play. Gspot tells me that it has mp3 audio, and it shows I have 4 filters that it is trying to decode it with. None of them are working and I can't figure out why. Regular mp3 files play just fine on my pc.

    Thanks,

    Rob

I have exactly the same problem. I've removed my MP3 codecs and installed Lame and Radium codecs. Both show in GSpot but the problem continues. If you've found a solution please let me know as this is driving me nuts!

Solved. Apparently there are a number of avi's floating about with malformed MP3 headers. DirectShow filters will generally play these but ACM codecs will not. The solution is to run the .avi through AVI-Mux. This worked first time for me.
