Please bear in mind I am new in this forum. I use the XviD encoder for compressing TV images from Tv cable. In a previous version of the XviD (Gordianknot pack)it was possible to use the 1-pass quality (kind of quantizer?) for limiting the file size. On top one could use at the same time a max bitrate limiter in case a fast moving TV program is making too big files.I miss this possibility in the latest XviD version. There is a tagget bitrate possible setting but in my opinion it is or-or not and-and. Is there a way to overcome this??
    Any suggestion is welcome

    thanks in advance

Find the older version in question. I believe Nic's build had the quantizer function. Try doing a google search.
