Hey everyone I am new to the torrent thing. Recently I downloaded Azureus and began using that but keep getting yellow faces, and all my downloads for about 700Mb take about 1 day. As of now I have about 100Kb global download and about 50Kb global upload.

I do have a router but don't know how to do any port forwarding that I have heard about.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    that is good to hear.
The good settings should help get even faster speeds.

Since you are new to this, are you aware of the SafePeer or IP Filter functions in Azureus?

They are similar to PeerGuardian as they block IPs of government, industry and others known to send bad data on torrents.

SafePeer is a plugin for Azureus which was created before Azureus had the built in IP filter.

I would suggest using the IP filter.
    It is at Tools/Options/IP Filters.
You can set a download site ( http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/level1.gz ) for Azureus to download from or
you can download the BISS Blocklist Torrent and extract either the SafePeer or Level 1 list and load in Azureus from your computer.
