Pretty self explanatory but to make sure, this is a Cooler master Vortex 752 vs a Stock HSF from an AMD Phenom II 1090T.

The 752 is bigger and looks more robust but its older with 2 heat pipes compared to the more modern, smaller PII 1090T HSF with 4 heat pipes. I can't find any comparisons or anything I can draw a conclusion from so I am wondering if anyone else out there might have some info to help me make a decision.

Yea but its a pretty old design now... And I saw some reviews where the vortex 752 was only about as equal as a stock i5 cooler so I wasn't sure if the smaller AMD unit was more efficient with its 4 heat pipes where the 752 only has a basic design and has 2 heat pipes... If you have any bench/reviews of them compared or compared against a same third cooler so I can draw conclusions that would help.

The one you posted to is from 07.... 3 years of design changes can do a lot...

i noticed that too, but he asked a question and i answered it.
he didnt ask what hsf should i buy to replace my stock hsf, if he did i wouldve given him a more recent one.

It's because I have a Vortex 752 already on my old 5000+ I was hoping to do a mild overclock before I get enough cash saved for a nice liquid cooling kit.
