    Hi, should this work:

    Aureon USB 5.1 MK2 -> SPDIF out-> External Amplifier -> 5.1 sounds?

    I can get normal 2-speaker stereo with PCM-text lighted on the amplifier, but can't get it to 5.1 DD. I've set all speaker settings to 5.1.

    Any info greatly appreciated!

    5.1 Digital audio is an absolute pain in the neck, I spent literally hours and hours trying to work out how to do it with my Creative external 5.1 card and eventually gave up - I think I managed it with the onboard realtek after a few more hours. It's partly to do with what you're playing - which media files are you trying to play in 5.1?

    Actually I gave up on Terratec, since I read the optical-spdif is only for stereo output.

    I happened to have old Xtreme Music card and creative digital I/O-module, so I got games working with that. I now have 5.1 DD from games and that's enough. I'm not using this for videos..

    Cheers,

    Sup
