Hi guys, I cancelled my VM service a few months ago, someone came around to pick up the box last week and i handed it over no problems. Today out of nowhere my box super usb stops picking up signal - i am presented with no signal message. When i go into the scanning bit there is also no signal. Does it sound like i've been disconnected physically?

Think is, i can still get an electric shock from the cable wire which is weird?

    Thanks

in ireland they have to leave on atleast our 4 national channels free (atlaest untill the digital switchover ),im not sure what the law is in the uk ,mick is most likely 100% correct but you can check by unhooking the virmin cable from your box and connecting it direct to your tv and doing a scan(this will tell you if your virmin connection is active) even so your box will likely not work beyond a few months more sorry mate .

As the OP says he has terminated his account and given back the VM box to them, so it would be proper order they have stopped fully his connection. People have to realise, you should always pay a basic sub even an analogue subscription. If nobody pays a penny to them at all and used their services they would go bust in no time and what would we all do then?? No-one would bother providing a TV service at all, what would be the point from their stance in doing so if people aren't even paying a penny!

i would think if all were using modified boxes they would go bust even faster, i was only suggesting that he would check his connection the way that i said and that he may have a few free to air channels .of course no provider of tv is free 100% (only a very few local channels or the 5 main channels will be available if at all )and all boxes but genuine pay boxes will cease to work very soon .so people need to look for other options.

Very true pat mate, if he connects cable direct to tv and scans on tv he will know if he's still getting a service. Mickah didn't mention that on this thread though mate. Sorry, you had me confused there!

yes, you will get chans, if you are paying your basic sub to virmin,

In relation to the above, the OP looks like he was cut off and wanted to hook himself to the feed himself and Mooley is right in saying pay for a basic sub, doesnt even have to be digital
