cd/dvd burner not reconizing disc or burn !

    Not sure what has changed other than norton prec. ran out. Need to get cd/dvd burner back on !

    does it show alright in device manager or is there an exclamation or unknown device there?

    no it says device is working properly but the auto play when disc is inserted dosent play or it i record a cd it records but dose not play

    On Device Manger:
    Right Click (The specific DVD/CD-ROM Drive) > Uninstall > Re-start the PC.

    The drive will be reinstalled correctly and automatically, as soon the PC is back on.


    Also check:
    Start > My Documents > Downloads || ...etc.

    Looking for & delete folders that use a bunch of numbers as a name (you can safely open those files & see they are no pics; just crap.) corrupting your CD/DVD Drives &/or PC.
