Why did you get another P5N board? You should have gone with a Striker II or something - or even a 790i. Yeah the 790i boards are nice...

well waymon i did it because a friend told me lol, and i thought i would of been much better obviously not :( the only reason i want nforce is becasue of sli, but is it really necessary? like for example i have one 9600 gt card and that was playin crysis realy well. are intel chip sets alot more beter then nvida, is because intel have been on scene much longer?

no, it's because nvidia focus on as much PCI express bandwidth as possible with their chipsets, and as low assembly costs as possible, they're very poorly made compared to Intel chipsets, which typically cost more but don't fall to pieces. All the 650i boards seem to have issues, and the 680i/780i ones don't seem immune to problems either. You don't hear of many issues with Intel chipsets. I just recommend Gigabyte/Intel boards over Asus/Intel ones because Gigabyte actually have tech support...
You really don't need to focus on SLI that much, I know lots of people who bought an SLI board and put one nvidia card in it, intending to add another later. Not a single one of them did.

ah okay then.. well just to cleart things up i am a gamer and well i love my games LOL

    At the moment i have:
    q6600
    500 gb sata harddrive
    9600 gt card
    2 gbs of ram

i heard a rumor that the intel quad processors were clonflicting with nvida chipsets is this true also, because i do have one and that could be another case why the p5n-t was so rubbish?

I've not heard that, but it wouldn't surprise me if I found out that's true. I assume you've returned these boards to where you bought them from? Don't do what I do and leave them all lying around!

The Q6600 is an excellent CPU, it just needs to be paired with a decent board. The P35-DS4 is a high grade board, but a reasonable amount of its not insignificant cost is so it can run ATI Crossfire, you'd be better off with one of these:
    http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...35+Express+(775)+Motherboard+?productId=29584
That effectively does the same job.
Good choice on the store by the way, I've been dealing with Aria for quite some time and have always been relatively impressed.

It's effectively the same board I've been using since Autumn last year without any issues. The only reason why I'm changing it is because I've effectively got a spare graphics card lying around so I'm going to go with crossfire.
The board will be compatible with the Q6600.
