As the thread title states, I'm having a problem using the Film Machine software. I load the AVI file in and it transcodes the sound, but then when it tries to do the video it gives me a message saying that the ECL is not a valid ECL for Cinema Craft Encoder Basic, which is what I use (retail version, not trial). CCE is ver. 2.70.0.4 I believe. Any takers??

It may be because you need the ecl plugin.

I know it's designated for CCE trial versions, but it might fix your pinch:

    Check this out:

    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/aviscript.html

You may also want to check what these folk have to say about ECL:

Anyways, I did some googl'in around for ya and that's about all I found.

hope it helps you out squizzle.

thanks a lot, I'll try it out and let you know how it goes. Everything I read about it says it supports CCE SP trial but nothing about the retail version of CCE Basic. It seems that most plug-ins for CCE are like that, which sucks. But I'll let you know how this one goes.

ok, that didn't help me but I did find an updated version of the film machine program. This new one supports CCE version 2.70, which is what I'm using. The older version of the program only supported CCE 2.67.

So I got it to open up CCE and encode with it. But I ended up with a menu and no DVD movie. Here's the log file it gave me:

    Nice log file, no errors!!

    Except for this:

ImageMagick: Unable to load file (C:\Program Files\The FilmMachine\Output\TFM_Ntsc_Highlight.png).
WARN: Bad image, skipping line -1
    WARN: Read 0, expected 4

I'm not sure about this, but I noticed in the log file your GOP range was 9 to 15, I think it should be 18.

    TFM_Project_File.ecl found
TFM_Project_File.ecl encoding started at 3:53:22 AM
    TFM_Project_File.ecl encoded at 4:34:01 AM

Seems like a very quick encode around 40 mins, with CCE that would be the menu, not the movie. What size is the ecl file?

I wish I could help you more, I am at my limit. I would suggest
soliciting the great Minion for help!!!

ecl file is 3kB, I only got 54kB encoded. I'll give Minion a shout and see what he says about it.

    Thanks
