I need help choosing, which would you recommend? x1800gto with 256mb or x800 with 512mb. the price is the same, so what other factors should I consider?

    Well let's see now...
The X800 has 6 Vertex pipelines, 12 Pixel pipelines and 12 Pixel Shader engines. It has 256-bit memory bandwidth and supports Shader model 2.0b.
The X1800 has 8 Vertex pipelines, 16 Pixel pipelines and 16 Pixel Shader engines. It also has 256-bit memory, but supports the newer Shader model 3.
The X1800 is newer - if it has GDDR3 memory and the X800 has only DDR2, then the X1800 is better and the X800 is the same $$ only because it has more (but cheaper) memory.
I wouldn't touch the X800 personally - if you want an okay but inexpensive vidcard, the X1600XT would be good but that X1800 even better!
Note: the X800 is almost gone, and the X1800 is going... the future for ATI is X1600 and X1900 GPUs.
    Regards
