I like many others have had a hard time installing Nero 7. It seems that many of the Cab files are corrupt. I have downloaded Nero from 3 different sites (including Nero) and had the same errors, but with different Cab files, I even moved the install file to a different drive and had different Cabs have errors from the same original, so I devised this method.

    1. Run the downloaded install file
    2. Allow it to error as many times as it wishes
    3. Reboot if asked
    4. Open WinRAR and drop in the install file, then open the CAB folder
    5. Open Windows explorer, find and run SetupX.exe in C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\NeroDemo11010 (or similar)
    6. Move Windows explorer to C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\NeroDemo11010\CAB folder
    7. When the installer errors asking you to “retry” “ignore” or “abort” because its missing ****.CAB file, locate the cab file in WinRAR (Step5) and drag/drop it in C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\NeroDemo11010\cab (Step 6) and overwrite it
    8. Click “retry” on the installer
    9. Repeat Steps 7-8 until finished.

I know it seems like a lot of work, but I have downloaded nero7 enough times. For it to keep faulting for me, makes me think that the problem is greater than the d/l file being corrupted. This method worked for me and I hope it helps…

Would you please check the MD5 checksum on your downloads to see if the download was actually good? I have also downloaded and installed Nero 7 many times and have not had your type situation.

Have you tried installing as Administrator?

I have seen situations when a previous file was still in the install path and could not be overwritten, an error would occur. You might check after you run the clean tool and make sure the directories are removed before installing again. Do searches for Ahead and Nero to find them.

    I also found this--

Yup, indeed same problem here with the 1335 and 2350 error. After lendthy checks, these few cab files are indeed currupt. I have downloaded Nero 7.5.7.0 from various sources including Nero but it is the same.
I managed to get around this and completed the install with flying colours yesterday although a little lengthy but it worked!
Firstly I unpacked Nero to one folder on my hard drive. Then I had to repair all the cab files with Advanced cab repair. This worked great but added "fixed" to the file name, so I had to physically rename all the files back to normal. I then replaced all the cab files in the cab folder with the new ones. That's it, it worked with no further problems. Try it, good luck and enjoy! :)
