Please excuse what is an absolute beginner's question. I am new to burning DVDs. I currently have Nero 7 Ultra and IsoBuster 2.0 which I use for CDs. I have searched the forums for a method using these 2 utilities, and don't want to duplicate programs. Could someone please advise what else I need. Thank you!

    Liz

    Hi liz630
To do dvd backup's you'll need to remove the copy protection - neither Nero or IsoBuster does this.

So you can use the free DVDFab Decrypter to rip the discs to your hard drive then open those files in Nero's Recode to compress and burn to a disc.

Here are some great guides and a FAQ section to check out by bbmayo.
If will get you started and show the different programs that you can use. link

@liz360. you have nero, within nero, use recode2 to compress to a ISO file and burn it with isobuster or better yet, IMGburn(free and great. the process should go as follow:

fabdecrypter(free) to you hard drive/ recode2(this is part of nero)to compress into a iso file/ isobuster or IMGburn to burn.

    you should have no problems.
