Monitor turns off during Cube 2?

I saw an ad for Cube 2 last night, and it looked fun so I installed it. I've been playing it constantly, and I didn't have any problems until about 45 minutes ago. I will join a server and start playing, then about 15 or so minutes into the game, the monitor will shut off. The real problem is that I can't turn it back on without turning my PC off, which is bad. By the monitor turning off, I mean the green light goes red. When I press the power button on the monitor, the red light turns green, then red quickly after. Like I said I can only fix it by turning my PC off. This has happened twice while Playing Cube, and last night I didn't experience this at all.

I don't know if this will have anything to do with it, but I did edit the crosshair in Cube 2, and I also tinkered around with some images. I have those backed up, so if it is the case I can restore them. I don't think it is the problem, but it could be.

    EDIT: More info
    Video Card:
    ATI Raedon X1650 Pro Series
    Monitor (Old):
    Compaq FS7600

Last time I saw something like this it was the pc PSU playing up. It was dropping the cpu core volts momentarily and dropping the system to black screen... Wrecked the hdd too. Everything else seems to have survived.. I'm running that system now with no problems.. the fault cleared with a new psu, but then the hdd problems caused many crashings.. I know that because the fault stayed on a completely new dual core system that has that hdd fitted..
It's odd.. I built that system from new, and the faulty psu wasn't the one fitted when I built it.. the one in there had been opened.. the owner swore it hadn't been replaced, but the machine had been to the "expert" for repairs very soon before the problem first showed up.. I told the bloke his hdd needed replacing too, but he had to go to the "expert" who told him the fully working mobo and chip I have here needed replacing... the same "expert" who couldn't even reinstall xp though I put Borg on it straight away and it ran for 6 months... Don't trust fly by night back street pc repairers who don't return "faulty" parts to you after a repair.. they are usually trying some scam..

So.. first step.. check your psu by substitution.. then look for cpu overheating....

BTW.. why didn't you just ask us or IRC.. or are you scared of tripp calling you a n00b again XD

Turned out to be a faulty monitor, we called up Compaq tech support and they told us the board or something needed to be replaced. So in the meantime I'm just gonna use a substitute monitor until we find some money to buy a new one. It needed replacing anyways. Your post actually made me think, and I decided to look at the back of the tower where the power cord plugs into, and it's getting that yellow color to it, almost like it's about to fry. So thanks, you saved me from having to replace a whole bunch of other things.

I kinda forgot about IRC, which I should just used that in the first place.

Thanks for your help, I guess I will have to put a new PSU on the list as well.
