mce remote drivers for xp pro sp3

    I am turning my xp pro sp3 machine into a htpc, using mediaportal front end and I have a mce toshiba remote fom my mce toshiba laptop that I am trying to run on the htpc... any ideas on drivers?

    Man, I have been searching for days for this driver - contacted Hauppauge tech support and they are very very slow in getting back to me (I cannot recommend that company) Please let me know if you find anything!

    Does your PC have a reciever for the remote? If so, it probably installed on it's own. You can test is by using windows media center. If it works there, you just have to use MediaPortal Configuration to enable it in MediaPortal. I know the Hauppauge unit I have did not even need drivers, they were included in vista.

    Don't have Windows MCE installed, its XP 64-bit. Apparently it doesn't get the update necessary to install the ehome infrared driver.

    Microsoft has been very bad about adding the features promised to XP64. You might try Windows7 X64...

    Yeah, been noticing that too, hence my migration to Ubuntu.
