In the USA which companies are GSM carriers?

    I am looking to purchase an I phone but am having a hard time understanding this whole unlocking thing. Can the new Iphone 3g be unlocked? Also which companies are GSM providers to allow for a sim card to be used in side the iphone?

    My understanding is that in order to use another company like t-mobile that it is possible but are there any other companies that can be used with the iphone besides at&t and Tmobile?

    You have already asked the questions in THIS THREAD.

    AT&T and T-Mobile. That's it.

    iPhone 3G is not yet unlockable.

    That means: iPhone 3G = AT&T.
    iPhone 2G = AT&T or T-Mobile.
