Hi all just managed to load the new firm into 2 strv3 boxes but i took some time! i tried 8.0 then 8.02 followed the usual instructions when entering sky spts nothing happend towards the updating process and scrambled channel, then back to rescan and sky sprts then a black screen then 1 min later bingo! is there someting im doing wrong as these updates seem to take a lot longer than the last ones! Out the several SV3's ive done so far, Only one was a pain in the backside. I flashed with the 8.02 and all fine but there was one I had to run through twice. Took longer to update and only did it by switching it to SkySports 1 then everything was fine.
same herei wonder what the problem is? i tried the 8.0 on mine from scousers link and it worked, on the other one i had to put 8.0 then 8.02 and onto sky sprts, what i have noticed is the channels are now in order with this new update are yours?
Im not quite sure about the channel order as I still use SV2 as you can arrange the channels in your own order whereas the SV3 you cant, its all favourites. So I just flashed them and gave them back to the Hounds that have been on my case since they went down. Its amazing how many people have rang me who I havnt heard from for ages!!!
Snap! not one person called me to say thanks for all these free channels mate! 3 months down the line and the phone has not stopped! all complaining ! but at least we have a fix! one guy last night asked for a few more and the answer was NO
Its amazing aint it. Well this is what Ive done, I explained to them that Its Free and its Easy to do if they buy a lead (and most of them have got one with their SV)then they can do it themselves but all you get is "but you know what you doing and it saves ME (meaning themselves) time"charming eh... So I said well if you cant be bothered then yeah ill do it but I want a donation. Dont get me wrong, alot of folk on here wouldnt agree with it but doing these boxes for the people who cant be bothered to get off their backsides to do them themselves then ring you up complaining the box you got for them is "faulty" or "blew up" and dont work just because they want everything done right there and then...well Im no Mug. They have a choice but too lazy. So any donations go into my pot and I said my 2 little lads have it once its all done and dusted. I cant be doing with people like that.Its just being bone idle. They have a choice. I had one Guy knock my door lastnight just after 9.30pm with 4 SV3's..."hiya mate, so and so sent me, said you could do these for me" Yeah sure Ill do them for you, come back tomorrow anytime as Im off for the week... "cant you do them now please mate, we're desperate" (obviously) Well Not really no, Im sitting down watching celeb (hehe)- tell you what, just this once, Get your donation out. After actually showing him on my Pc in the back room, He couldnt beleive how easy it was and then ranted on about How pi** easy it was and he could make a right killing. Do it yourself then mate, Im not in it for the money. If everyone would be patient and actually start where we all started, there wouldnt be a problem. I dont ask for anything off My family or mates.Its these Random people through a friend of a friend who I dont hardly know is where the donation kicks in. I aint doing it for them for knowt.Ill never see them again now....till the next climax!!!!
Brilliant! just the same my mate told me last night to charge people but as you im not doing this for the money but i agree so easy to do if only they all could be bothered to enter afterdawn then hey hey hey we could all watch tv in peace!
forge that, 20 quid a pop, like you say im the one who sat and read these forums and took my time to go and buy the hardware and download the correct software and learn how to do it
lol@Spiritwal : Ive already had few texts this morning,ha! Ive heard stories of a certain Guy where Im from charging £30 a Box.He's even making out it takes him half hour each one to try and justify his 2 minute wonder.
...Oh and its not like we aint telling them its sooooooo easy to do it. That guy is telling everyone its real hard and you could fry your SV if you dont get it right first time - Now thats out of order in my opinion. They way i see it, If you stress to them how easy it is and they still want to give you their money then hey what can you say! My donations are only a couple of quid, if that!!!
