Hey all. I have and use a Optoma EP720i Projector
Digital Multimedia Projector. I use my ps3 with it and i have been using a video to componet cnecter to hook up it with the ps3.

I recently purchased HDMI TO DVI cable and DVI-I FEMALE TO VGA MALE ADAPTOR to hook my ps3's hd to the projector. When i plug in the Hdmi to dvi cable into the vga male adapter then into the vga slot in my projecter When i switch my ps3 on the projector can't find it. Why?:S (i have set my ps3 settings to hdmi input) Can you help me?

Here are the projectors Specs (Optoma Projectors: Optoma EP720i DLP projector)

    Thanks.

Well it's a business/presentation class projector, although it will show HD content it will not be in HD. You didn't post the specs, but here's what I found:

INPUTS: 15 Pin D-Sub VGA (SCART & Component via adaptor)
    S-Video 4 Pin Mini Din
    Composite RCA
    3.5mm Stereo Jack
    USB (remote mouse

Like many of these types of projectors you can use a standard VGA computer output or component outputs with the appropriate cable. Your HDMI cable conversions aren't going to work. And in the long run it makes no difference, as your PS3's component connection outputs a higher resolution than your projector can handle.
