acer aspire 5310 power

    My laptop's power connection doesnt work anymore the connection on the motherboard has doesnt hold the power cable anymore would i need a new motherborad? And if so can i buy one? and where from?

    are you certain it is the motherboard connector & not the power block connector?

    Power block connector? Is that where the cable fit into? Im not to sure what part i need its the conection on the laptop.

    power block connector is what plugs into the laptop. the motherboard connector is in the laptop.

    i think it might cost as much for new motherboard as it would for new laptop but check with acer & maybe other sources like ebay to make certain. other possibility is to replace motherboard connector with a new 1 that still fits power block connector.

    I have a idea on how to fix it but i need to get inside. Does anyone know where i can get a guide on taking the laptop apart?
