Just got a new GeForce 9800 GTX + Video Card - 1024MB GDDR3 shown here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...mc=Email-_-WebletMain-_-WEBLET03ORDER-_-Deals My computer is this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...A-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-N82E16883107733 I have the card installed and is running, I can hear the fan. But my computer doesn't seem to recognize it under the System section in the control panel. I do not have the 8 pin connector hooked up. Is my power supply too weak to run this correctly? Or do I need to do something in the bios? Vista did not do a 'new hardware found' after reboot. I went to the website and found a non specific driver here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_185.85_whql.html Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Whcih power connectors are you talking about? The grafix card has an 8 pin connector but my current 300 watt power supply doesn't have one of those coming out. Would a new power supply have this connector? Thanks.
Yes, and you have to plug it in for the graphics card to work. Buy one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004 Expensive, but that's how much decent power supplies cost.
Thank you all for the quick response. Is there a way I will know that these power supplies will fit in my box?
