    Hi, first time poster, nice forum lads!

    I'm posting because I seemed to have come across a few ndsl lately that have the same fault.

    orange chargelight comes on, no green light whatsoever.
    Now I'm an ex tv repairman, so I know a little bit.

    Its not the;
    battery
    charger
    fuses
    l2 inductor
    switch etc.

    Ive checked over a few transistors/diodes etc

    But I cant seem to get any joy!
    Does anyone know of any components(whether or not they're replaceable by hand) that are likely to go, other than whats above, what caps may go etc
    I have a few motherboards here to mess around with, but i havent had a chance to get round to it till now, but i'd really like to get to the bottom of it.

    I'm suspecting whatever it is, may become more common from here on in.

    "orange chargelight comes on, no green light whatsoever. "

    Please clarify. No green light whatsoever when you turn the power switch, or the battery charging never completes?

    Is there output at the battery terminals when the orange light is on?

    Have you tried replacing the battery? They are only good for about a year (250 full charges as I recall).
