Windows 7 Phone will not have tethering at launch

Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 26 Sep 2010 11:22 User comments (7)

Windows 7 Phone will not have tethering at launch Microsoft has said this weekend that its upcoming Windows Phone 7 will not support tethering.
The new statement directly contradicts the past statement from the Brandon Watson, the Director for Windows Phone 7.

In May, Watson said the ability would be enabled from launch.

Microsoft has promised that tethered connection sharing will be a reality eventually, but not in October when the first phones hit the market.

Tethering, along with copy/paste and full multitasking have all been stripped from the 1.0 software release, but will make comebacks in future firmware updates.

I don't know why their half assing the job. First no copy and paste and now they don't have internet tethering? What the hell microsoft? What kind of comeback are they planning on doing. Putting focus on something as stupid and useless as different sounding key touches.

Leave it to Micro$oft to be self-proclaiming victory before releasing a mobile OS that is already outdated by iOS and Android...No copy-paste, no multitasking, no tethering...what's next? No SMS?...And btw, I agree 100% with ivymike's comment...:-P

No external memory expansion, no battery just use car/home charger. Black and white LCD... come on MS lets find even more ways to make it cheaper. No voice dial, no keyboard, etc..
