Yahoo to bid between $600 and $800 million for Hulu

Yahoo to bid between $600 and $800 million for Hulu Last week we reported that Yahoo would be placing a bid to purchase video streaming site Hulu.
Today, ATD is reporting that the bid will be between $600-$800 million, depending on what kind of content deal terms it can get from Hulu's owners, Comcast, Disney and News Corp. (NBC, ABC and Fox on broadcast).

In the past two months, DirecTV, Time Warner Cable, PE firm Silverlake, PE firm KKR, Guggenheim Digital and Peter Chernin's The Chernin Group have all expressed interest if not already placed bids for the video site.

The site is currently jointly owned by News Corp., Disney and Comcast (without any management authority) and it is clear that they will not accept under $1 billion as a straight bid, meaning Yahoo's offer seems low.

I'm surprised that Yahoo still exists. 0_0

How is yahoo bidding on itself? Must be some kind of anti-self-bidding law:)

Meh, I don't use Hulu. But yeah, I use yahoo for the IM service(not the actual messenger, I use Pidgin on Linux).

Don't do it HULU. That means you are doing the right thing. HULU is an awesome alternative to the high priced regular tv subscriptions. My kids discovered it a couple of years ago. I was paying $140 a month and the only shows we watched was on Cartoon network and no sports. $140 a month to $7.99. a month. Never looked back.

It came thru with 2 yahoos in the email but here, from Oz, it's been edited.

Is HULU available in Oz btw?

I'm not sure, Jemborg, but I don't believe so. Why not try the free version of the service, however, and see?
