¿compressed audio in avi?

    i've been trying to convert an avi movie to mpg so i can create a vcd. most of the programs i used said "Encoder can accept only uncompressed 8- or 16-bit PCM audio sampled at 11.025, 22.05, 32, 44.1, or 48 khz. Encoder can not process the AVI file."

    anyone know of any avi audio decompressor?
