ur guna av to upgrade to this eventually,c oz wen u buy a new ps3 game it requires a certain firmware, so if u dnt have it, it will update it for you, otherwise u cnt play the game, so i sayin u might aswell upgrade

 

i did do 1.90 .would be nice to play all ps backups though ,i see it in the very distant future .if at all .love me ps3 more than the missus

you can delete this or close it not fussed .going to psp forums for a week or so got lumines umd 43 on the end serial not tried it yet .scared .not bricked any from 2.71 to 3.40oea ish

 

mine as well upgrade there are some cool new features and there's really no point in not upgrading. And if you asking this question because of custom firmware, its going to be a while till that comes to the PS3. Upgrade.
