    Hi everyone,

I read A review where it says 1 Click Dvd Copy Restores Defective / Scratched Dvds.

Is this true? Can anyone tell me how the program does this?

On a persoanl note I would like to thank Afterdawn and the Afterdawn community. You have been a wealth of information for me and have helped me solve many of my problems....

I believe what they mean about "Restoring" scratched DVDs is this: You can make another copy on a New Blank Disc, therefore restoring your scratched DVD. That is, IF your scratched DVD is readable. Many programs are able to do this. But there is NO way ANY software can "repair" scratches.

    Yes,
But what I was wondering was does that statement mean 1 Click Dvd Copy can read scratched disks better than other copy programs.

Such as CloneDVD, DVD Devrypter, DVD Fab, etc?

The best coppier of bad dvds was 123 Xcopy Rescue, it was great. I tried the latest copy of 1 Click DVD Copy Pro with a scratched dvd movie recently, and it just wouldn't copy. It did go farther than my copies of DVDfab Platinum and CloneDVD2 (with AnyDVD). The manufacturer that has GOOD scratch protection in his program, will have a real winner.

Further info on scratch protection. Have a scratch that 1ClickDVD Copy-Pro gave an error message and stopped. Tried my copy of DVDFab Platinum and copied fine with just a little hesitation at the scratched area, while copying.

    Windows XP Home
    Plextor PX-716A
    TDK DVD+R

Im not saying that programs like Intervideo DVD Copy 4 arent better than 1ClickDVD Copy but I am the proud owner of 1ClickDVD Copy and have to say as a all-in-one copying program I believe that 1ClickDVD Copy excels above the competition.

@ aabbccdd. i ment to say that 1click is better as a ripper(scratch disc), intervideo's picture quality, when it works for you, it is better than all the transcoders outthere. the problems with intervideo are too many, so i had to give it up.
this is how i would rate the transcoders in order of picture quality:
#1-intervideo copy 3 or 4 (if you can solve its problems, i couldn't).
#2-Nero Recode2, i'm not using it just yet because shrink is as good as it in picture quality.
    #3-shrink.
    #4-dvd2one 152 or v2.
    #5-1clickdvd copy.
    #6-clonedvd2.
Remember these are transcoders, Rebuilder/encoder is a whole different deal.

After reading the responses I am considering purchasing Intervideo DVDCopy 4. I noticed on their site, there was no mention of lifetime upgrades. Are there? Also, I have AnyDVD, is that a good match with Intervideo DVDCopy 4?

@ scamper. don't do it, don't do it. search and see that many of us had to stop using it because of all the problems it can cause. i have the program and can't use it because of the following problems: pixelations, wrong audio when reathoring, no audio when reathoring, much smaller output than 4.35GB( i have never gotten more then 3.86GB no matter what i do). i'm just tring to save you some money. hey, who knows, you might be one of those people for whom the sofware works fine but i'd not gamble.
ps: it is sad, for intervideo is the best picture producing transcoder outthere.
note. nero recode2(almost same price as I.V) is great, my favorite program, the updated shrink.

Thank you for your advice, it is appreciated. I'm trying to rescue a dvd, but my Clonedvd nor DVDfab Platinum will copy it. Does anyone know of a good rescue program? Sure do miss 123 dvdRescue, it copied scratched disks.
