Many of the newer dvds have what they call 'bad authoring techniques' on the discs to try and stop people backing up their movies.

DVD43 does work with these newer (usually SONY movies) if you keep your 1click upto date (1click's CPRx technology is updated to handle these movies). If you don't want to update your 1click you could always try another decrypter. There are many free ones but the best by far is Anydvd. Give the 21 day trial a try and see what you think.

    Hi newtoit,

If you want a good backup avoid using dvd like memorex, and cheap media. I have used 1 click before with DVD43 which I found 1 click and dvd43 were not good software. Dvdshrink and anydvd will be a lot better. With anydvd, dvdshrink and together with good dvd media like verbratim, taiyo yuden, maxell you shouldnt have any problem at all.
That will go along that you have the latest firmware for your dvd burner.
    Happy Burning...

get rid of DVD43..... it's a poor imitation of AnyDVD with aspirations of a quality application, which it's not! Use AnyDVd instead and you'll notice the difference....... it works!
