Hey, I'm looking for 1080p monitors so that I can play a PS3 on it. Problem is, I can't find 1080p monitors anywhere -_-'. I'm looking for something 22-24 inches.
First your gonnna need a HDMI cable (Im assuming you have one) Anyway, a LCD or Plasma monitor should have HD capabilities, though im not totally sure. You can get good cheap 20-30 inch LCD HDTV's now a days anyway, but a monitor might be cheaper.
I am thinking about buying this one. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2986821&CatId=2318 Do you guys think it's good for a ps3?
Thats pretty darn good, but you might get more life out of this nice TV. Extra 100 dollars i would spend over a monitor. http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pr...angid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10084081&catid=23518
That TV is only 1080i. I have the Samsung for my PC and am waiting for my other PS3 to get here so I can try it out in 1080p, matter of fact I just ordered a Monster Cable HDMI to DVI cable for $11 from Amazon.com
got a wega36 crt at me front room .just got this 230uk ish .fp222wh benq .traded me old monitor got 70 quid .this monitor surpasses any tv at this time .am sure most monitors do in resolution .could not afford the bravia x series at this time .got a claim at work will get me the 46x series was 2500 down to 1700 .less in 4 months i hope benq 22 ws .press of a button on the side hdmi ,dvi ,dsub so easy .came with cable for hdmi .saved me a tenner .
You dont really need monster cables for this but since you got them so cheap i guess it doesnt really matter.
Only reason I got them was the price, not the maker. Although I have to say sometimes a name brand does make a difference depending on what you need/using it for.
So that monitor is only 1080i? Which samsung monitor are you using for 1080p? Also, is there really a significant difference from interlaced to progressive?
It was a TV not a monitor that was linked to above and was only 1080i. As for the difference I doubt i to p will be drastic but am looking forward to checking it out.
that's cool. why a 2nd PS3, might i ask? also, from what i know - and there's a whole forum here with way beter info - the I vs P thing might not be so drastic on such a small screen; ive currently got a 720P 42"; next time, itll be a 60" 1080p and i think at that size, itll be noticable.
I actually bought that samsung 226BW... its amazing... it DOES accept 1080p signals...it shows the picture it says "not optimal mode" but pressing the menu button makes it go away. but dont get it from tigerdirect...go to bestbuy and get the same thing for 70 bux cheaper...
I'm thinking about getting that, it looks nice. I'm just worried about the quality because it's a weird brand.
You might be on to something glenquag. Look at this: http://www.xtremepccentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=197164 I wouldn't go near there T.V.s, rather be safe than sorry.
