just as a little note, 1080p is not out of easy grasp of those looking for a budget hdtv. this tv in the link is 32" and does 1080p, all for under less than $760. http://www.thetwistergroup.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=FPE-2706 D33832&source=fr it wasnt such a bad thing to have included with the ps3 output.
This is not a true 1080p display. The resolution as listed is only 1366 X 768 pixels. It can accept a 1080 signal but downscales it to its native pixel resolution. For true 1080p look for a display with a 1920x1080 pixel resolution otherwise any 1080i/p signal is just downscaled.
if you have to be like that, then here. http://www.google.com/base/a/mikec091383/1365950/D4128155879768704454 1920x1080, 1080p, 37", $1099. still heap for an hdtv, and expecially one thats 1080p. try and fight me on this one.
Jeez, chill out man. He's not trying to fight you. He just pointed out that the display on your original post was not native 1080p. Man some people can get too sensitive. Also the Westinghouse LVM-37w1 has been discontinued and is sold only as refurbished units. It is no longer sold in retail and has been replaced by the LVM-37w3. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=18577153
i know hes not, and im not mad. i was just being sarcastic. even better tho, your link may be the tv i get if i inheirit money soon. im sure by the time i can afford any tv 1080p displays will be more common and cheaper tho. nonetheless, a little over 1k is not much for a 1080p display now. just htough id show some people there are tv's out there that they can get for cheap. i know people who are looking for an hdtv are looking around 1.5k, so >1.2k is great
I've seen the Westy LVM-37w3 in action and it's pretty good. I'm thinking of getting one for the bedroom. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's the smallest 1080p native display available at this time.
what is the best tv to get DLP hdtv 1080p with 1920 x 1080 or, Lcd hdtv 1080p with 1920 x 1080 . I am findin it hard to choose I want the best picture but cheap lol I heard the plazma 's are not good because of burn in images so I dont want one of those. also yeah this is for the Ps3 in the future . I was gonna post the pro's and con's and start a thread but hell this might be were it can be started .
well LCD tvs suck if you play a non HD game. For example i play my PS2 on a LCD and unless its a progressive scan game then graphics are horrible. It looks better on a normal TV. But since PS3 outputs HD then it doesnt really matter. Personally id perfer Plasma than LCD cuz Plasma has a slight sharper image than LCD. But its true that LCD is safer cuz there are no glares and images wont burn in. But i played my PS2 on plasma forever and that hasnt happen to me so i dont think its a big problem to worry about.
thats a good point CrisKahn that was another question I was gettin at ,ok since I read about 6 games that are confirmed at the full 1920 x 1080 so far . how many games are makin this big jump compaired to not? would it be wise to have the HDTV for just those games, and have another Tv for the lower pixel games ,or does an 1080p hdtv have a setting or switch to turn it down a notch . wow im lost lmao
yeah it can be toned down, but there is still just as many pixels on the lcd. upcaleings look better typically tho.
thanks Anubis ,this is helpin me understand alot I think im gone go ahead and ride with the LCD , I do like the DLP Tv's the only thing about them is they are bulky and heavy I do want a Pretty big TV and even though they are over looked they still are nice. the only thang I found wrong was the rainbow effect sometimes in the corner of the screen . How do any of you feel about these or the projector ? I saw and hd projector and my mouth dropped lmao at how fuckin high it is.
When you're dealing with fixed-pixel displays such as LCD's and DLP's anything you feed into the TV gets SCALED to the native resolution and any interlaced signal is converted to progressive. For exaple if you have a 720p display - any input is converted to 1024x720p at 60fps. For the PS3 the best scenario will be: 1080p game at 1080p output thru HDMI to a 1080p display. A 720p game will be upconverted to 1080p and should still look good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution Front projectors are a good alternative especially with prices dropping. You can get an excellent 720p LCD projector for less than a plasma. My best gaming experience has been through a front-projector system with a 7.1 surround system (my Dad's 1080p Sony Ruby projector on a 110 inch screen with the X360 and COD2). Resistance at 1080p on a 110 inch screen should be a treat.
I couldn't disagree with you more on this subject.i have a Sony KDL-40S2000 40" LCD TV & my picture i get from that compared to a tube TV is not contest.I know when i play Madden 07 for some reason its on the 480p channel and it looks awsome.
i dont typically like projectors over an extreemly large lcd tv, but if you have a big white wall they can be the best. but once the bulb inside dies, its like what, several hundred dollars to replace? either way, projectors are coming down in price. you guys remember those old dark green and all steel overhead projectors older schools used? ah the good ole days..that machine brought fun.
@dblbogey7: I finally caved in and yesterday got the Panny PT-AE900u front projector. I already had a 110 inch DaLite High Contrast Gray motorized screen installed which drops down in front of my Sony SXRD. I couldn't resist their online deal for $1300 plus 3 years warranty and an extra bulb. I think they're making way for the 1000u model which is 1080p. The picture from HD-DVD and the 360 are just awesome. You're right - everyone should try gaming on a projector. The PS3 should rock with this PJ. How's your basement theater coming along? Have you preordered the Sony Pearl projector? @DamonDash: You're right. The Sony Bravia series LCD's are very good at handling 480p signals. I saw a few models which were great before I decided on the SXRD.
these are the two best projectors i can find. anyone got the cash to help me get one? : http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/public/view_item_cat.php?catalogue_number=sony_vpl-vw100 http://www.hideflifestyle.com/sony-vplvw50-diamond-1080p-with-hdmi-p-730.html sony diamond, look it up since something is wrong. (edit: woah, hey any mod viewing this one like to tell me thats going on with that hyperlink? is there something messed up in the html of the site?)
That's the Sony Ruby projector that dblbogey7's dad has. http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...pt=tvvideo&CategoryName=tv_FrontProjectionTVs They're coming out with the "Pearl" which is also 1080p but a smaller version and costs about $5000. http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...pt=tvvideo&CategoryName=tv_FrontProjectionTVs I think he's planning on getting this for his basement theater setup. Man the PS3 should look awesome on any one of these. Edit: The Pearl (VPL-VW50) has been released and is now available. Here's a good place to start when choosing home-theater projectors. A list of top HT projectors categorized into 480p, 720p and 1080p groups: http://www.projectorcentral.com/home-theater-multimedia-projectors.htm
this thread is gettin good , a nice one you created Anubis . I'm sure alot of newbies and people who dont understand alot about T.v's will find this very helpfull , thanks for a the great opinions and feedback guys it help me understand more of what to look for lol I was new at the T.V game , and I never ever got the best picture for my Ps2. I only used the av cables but my cousin told me to get the S-video or the best picture the component video cables. I missed out last time but this time Im goin all out for the Ps3. hell I was still stunned at the graphics from the av cables lmao
i never expected much from this, but hey it's all good i guess. its nice to see options. lets see, the cheapest projector i can find to do 1080p.. http://shopmiracle.stores.yahoo.net/v11h050020.html not godlike, but good for its price i'd say. only 400:1 contrast tho.
