You will have to set your first boot drive as cd rom and boot windows xp disc and either do a quick or full format on the hard drive and install windows xp on it and it will boot up fine

igot it to work but i wonder if i need the origanal product key???????????????it is a 2002 version disk please help
this origonal cd says on the front distubustion of a new pc and ask for key i wonder if i need the key of my friens pc where i got the disk any other way to do this tried 3 keys wont work
As long as your friend isn't using that product key on any other system, then yes, use your friends product key that came with the disk you have. The problem comes when you use the same key on 2 different systems. That's called software piracy.
