well i'm sure this has come up before but i have a spindle of 16x DVD-r and i cant burn onto them. I have upgraded the firm ware but to no avail...Any Ideas??? Thanks Ryan
What media are you using? What's the model # of the mitsumi? If it's an older drive and hasn't had a firmware update in the past 1-1/2 years or so 16x media probably isn't compatible with it.
Its a DW-7802TE it is an older drive, and i have update the firmware. I have tried burning with several different programs and none can do it. I thought maybe it was just NEro but today i tried a few others and all of them have had errors before they get going. I guess I'll have to try to pawn the discs off to someone or save them an get a new drive later that is compatible. Unless some brilliant mind has any better ideas i think i'm stuck.... Ryan
Your best bet is picking up a new drive and using the 16x discs. They probably do fine w/ a new drive. Yeah this drive is older and hasn't has a firmware update since 2004. So you can try finding 8x or 4x media but it's getting harder to find. By the time you find discs that work you may have spent just as much as a new drive would cost. They are so mucher cheaper now.
