Hello I recently bought a 16x Benq dvd burner. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with possibly using 8x dvd-rs at 16x? I remember reading that a few certain types of dvd-rs worked and were able to be burned at higher speeds. I am just curious if this is possible because it seems like 16x media will not be out till at least december ;( thanks for the help.
8X media can only be burned up to 12X and that's only with high quality media and the drive's firmware allows it. Faster isn't always better...................
The 1st class media listed at this site would be your best bet for burning higher than their rated speed. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
