This is a lesson for the novices in dvd media/backups. Mind you, I'm using MCC-04, which is a trusted manufacturer. But this is what happens when you burn too fast: Why did I burn at that speed? Because I didn't know Img Burn reverts to default options when you update it. Prior to Img Burn's current version, I always had it burn at 8x. I finally upgraded it the other day and didn't realize that the burn speed reverted to "max" or whatever it is. Needless to say, it's back to 8x. What's funny is that I heard the difference. I was in bed and heard the optical drive in overdrive (no pun intended). I got up to see it and the speed said 12x and it was climbing!
On my benqs, 8x scans the best with MCC-004 media- 95-97 nero scores. 12x isn't too shabby and scores better than 4x. 2.4x burning, beware. Major CRC errors!!!!!
Good point, Saug! I should've mentioned that both optical drives are lite-ons. But yeah, like you, at 8x, these Verbs usually produce a 95+ score. Gotta love 'em!
i agree. i was burning the 16x verbs at 12x and decided to check the quality with nero speed and got a 79 disk quality, i slowed it down to 8x and get 93 disk quality.
