    Hello there.
I had many problems when I had 1 click dvd, it won't do protected dvd's. Even backup one's.
I can suggest you download the trial version of clone dvd 2 as this software is the business. I have had no problems with this one. if you want clone dvd 2 make sure you don't go for "clone dvd 3" as 3 is a chinese hijack copy and not the original which is clone dvd 2. I hope this helps...

first, what movie are you trying to copy? what are you using 1click with, dvd43 free, anydvd or decrypter first? 1clickdvd is my #1 program(have others)and it has never failed me yet. in my opinion is a great and easy to use program.

hi there folks, thanx for the replies. i'm using dvd43 with 1clickdvd copy. the same thing seems to happen often when i try to use dvdxcopy,shrink3.2+ decrypter,clonedvd2 etc.., the programme reads my dvd fine but when i try to burn various errors appear. this doesn't happen all the time, but more often than not. i'm using dvd-r discs most of the time, but when i try a dvd+rw it'll work fine. anyone have any ideas what i'm doig wrong???. i'm very new to all this so please excuse my stupidity if i'm doing something really stupid. thanx in advance folks.

    Hello again

It seems that your drive is having a compatability issue with the dvd-r. If it works with dvd+rw than you can also use dvd+r. The dvd+r you can write to once. The dvd+rw you can delete the disc and use it again.
If the drive you have doesn't work properly with the dvd-r disc's than you will need to use the dvd+r or dvd+rw, this means your drive will work properly with the + disc's I hope this helps..

hi folks, once again thanx for the replies. i've since started to use different software but with the same results. for instance last night i backed a film up using dvd shrink 3.2 and copy to dvd,it was fine and copied to dvd-r no problem, immediately after i tried to back up another using the same method but errors appeared and stopped the writing process. any suggestions are welcome as i'm currently gathering up a large amount of coasters!!!!.

    Hello again

I use only the dvd+r and dvd+rw disc's. The reason why is when I used dvd-r for movie backup it created alot of coasters. When I play the dvd+r in my dvd player there is not one coaster or problem. I use clone dvd 2.
The problem your having could be because you are using dvd-r or the disc is a cheap brand. Slightly higher priced disc's are better to use.

I would suggest trying a different brand of media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. I have found that PlayStations are pretty foregiving about the media that they will read,my PS2 will read just about anything but my other 3 DVD players are all different.

    Hello rog2,
An exact error log would be great; be sure to edit out personal info such as serial numbers. There are many different errors the log will allow us to see exactly what the writing software (VSO Copy to DVD I believe) is complaining about. If I understand you correctly you have made successful backups with both + and - types of blank media; typically people seem to like ritek (although I haven't used them myself). Please explain in detail the process that you are using to make your good backups, for example I would open the original disk with DVD Decrypter burn the files to a folder on your hard drive then open the folder with DVD Shrink (Personally I use DVD Rebuilder with CCE but it's all good) here is a guide that I have navigated to the DVD Decrypter portion of.

    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd-9_to_dvd-r_with_dvd2one_page_2.cfm

After ripping go to this guide for using DVD Shrink:

    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink.cfm

Notice this area of the guide "backup":

    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink_page_3.cfm

You will make an Image file on your Hard drive using Shrink so that you can burn the Image file (A.K.A. ISO file) using DVD Decrypter. Please make sure that you do not select "maximum" under the burn speed drop down as you should refrain from burning at speeds above 4x. Note that you can burn the ISO with Nero but I'd try using DVD Decrypter so that you can rule out any conflicts that Nero may be having with say Roxio, DVD43 in fact I'd uninstall DVD43 before doing this as I had a bit of trouble with it. If you get the same errors during burn you know that it probably was not Nero; you can the save the log file edit out personal data and post it here.

Note that the burn speed of 4x and less is pretty important. Also I haven't been able to get my PS2 to play any burned disks yet not to say that it definitely can't but I've not had any luck.

    Good luck
