    Hi,

New to backing up DVD's, I have a laptop with seperate DVD+ RW (samsung). I have DVD shrink, DVD Decrypter and Nero. I have copied a DVD to the Laptop HD and it plays perfect, I then copied to blank DVD+R and plays very well apart from in places it breaks up and sometimes freezes (normally in fast action).

Any ideas on what to try to resolve this.

Please tell what Media you are using (hopefully not memorex) and the burn speed.

Ideally you should use Verbatim Data Life Plus and burn at ONLY 4x.

    Hi,

Media was EMTEC and the speed was set on maximum (default settings on Nero)

slow down the burn speed to 4x or less. Also make sure when you backup a movie your not doing anything and all programs are turned off in the background. If you still have problems then get diffrent media. Keep testing till you get DVDs that work good with the standalone player you are using.
