    Is this right?? seems like forever to me.

    Using Nero 7 and with option for determining maximum speed enabled.
    Primedisc 8x compatible DVD-R Discs

    PC: 2500XP+ AMD CPU
    Asus A7N8X 2.0 Motherboard.
    1 GB PC3200 RAM at 400 MhZ
    DVD Burner capable of 16x with all formats
    DVD and source HDD on different IDE cables.

    It seems like it doesn't use the full 8x speed it should. Any help or thoughts?

    Sounds pretty much normal for me, the time taken would NOT be actual burning time, but time transcoding etc, burning time should be around 9/10 minutes.

    @Daeds
    If your using Vision probably about right. Others app in Nero no this would be a bit too long.
    What app in Nero are you using?

    For not liking the 8x on the media that may be right. Run one of those discs through Nero ToolKit>InfoTool - disc tab and give us the manufacturer of them.

    Need a bit more info - file format (.avi, wmv etc.), app using in Nero and manufacturer of this disc etc.
