hi i heard 2.8 is released did somebody try it?
im gonna update now (2.71)-->>(2.8)

If he wants to update let him, he's not missing out on anything. It's not like 2.71 has an advantage over 2.8.

Couldn't you just have edited your first post in this thread instead of double posting? Especially one minute apart.

 

if he stays @ 1.71 he will have 2 wait less for the downgrade, but if hes not into homebrew then it makes no difference so he mite as well stay up-to-date

 

No one knows if and when they'll be a downgrader for 2.71.
Currently there's nothing more special about 2.71 over 2.8.

If my opinion counts as anything. If I had 2.71 I'd update to 2.8.

 

wats so much better bout 2.8 than 2.71 (besides ability 2 play newer games?)

 

@Supastar, sony has encrypted 2.8 bad its gonna take a long time before a downgrader for to come out..whereas the downgrader for 2.71 has had significant improvement and by seeing the amount of great devs. working on it Im sure its just around the corner

As for the double post, A double post is if I post the same para twice, in my case I sent a link in my 2nd post which doesnt make a diff.

pretty much the only thing that 2.8 has over 2.71 is that you can get rss chanels.

Video clips, music, pictures... but you can save them to your psp.

 

on my 2.71 i have rss and you have always been able to save video, music and photoes to the psp via memory stick

 

As Codeman said, you can stream Video, Music, and Pictures through RSS feeds.

You know that Sony encrypted 2.8 "bad" how? It's been proven that it has no significant security changes over 2.71. There's very little security changes.

A double post is 2 posts in a row by the same member. It doesn't matter if they say different things or not.

It's not right "around the corner". Do you know what it takes to make a downgrader? First you have to find an exploit in the actual firmware. Then you have to somehow get Flash0 Access. Then you need to write the actual downgrader program. It's not a process that can be done in a week or two.

Just because I'm curious. What are you doing to "make" this "downgrader". Can you actually go in depth and give a reasonable explanation as to what you're doing?

Do you have any past coding experience?

In 2.71 all you could stream through RSS was music. Now you can stream Videos, Pictures, Music. Codeman also meant that you can save media from those RSS streams to your memory stick. He didn't mean that you could actually save video, music, and photos to your memory card by connecting it to the computer and stuff.

 

well when i went to watch the videos and the pictures on my 2.71 nothing happened.

but now you can actually watch the videos and pics, unless i was doing something wrong the whole time.

get the "new" sample rss channel. it has insturctions on it, it says it's for 2.8 only at this point.

but is it worth it updating i mean i dont want to update
and next day i will see the downgrade stuff

 

as Supastar said if ur alread @ 2.71 and not into doing homebrew than ur better off upgrading to 2.8

 

1)Show me proof that there are very little security changes the maybe I'll believe you.

2)As to my double post...I don't think it's something serious as I have'nt repeated myself twice over the same thing but if you think that's double posting I won't bother you cuz I don't see any point in arguing...if it troubles a mod or some other member of the forum then I'll understand.

3)Well, I agree with you that u need an exploit for kernel access, I'm guessing that we'll have kernel access..my bad on this one I agree it a wrong point but I can bet u that a downgrader will be released within the next 5 days (again a guess lol)

4)Im not working on a downgrader I meant to say that many great developers are working on it. Once 2.5 was released we all thought that it was impossible to find an exploit in this one but look now...Everything happens...

There are even more possibilities now with the Modchip out, future modchips will be even better and great apps such as Epsilon Bios..
