I have 2 cdroms in my computer a HP and a Sony, Neither are working. 2 hard drives work, but cdroms don't even recognise that they are in the computer.

    any ideas?

    thanks Ash

First of all don't use Cable Select if you are, just use master and slave jumper settings. Second, go to device manager and see if there are any exclamation points or any other conflicts.

Do they appear in my computer?

Try using a different IDE cable / Channel. remove your hard drives and put the cdroms on that channel. the boot into your BIOS and see if it picks them up... Also use the same cables that where on your hard drives... If this works, try puttin the hard drives back in, on the channel you tried the cdroms prior to the problem.
