    Sup,
So heres the deal Xbox A Softmodded with Evox Dash and 120gb WD hard drive. Xbox B softmodded with unleashx and origanl HD. I still have the original HD form Xbox A. Ok so my parents are gamers and when I showed my mother xbox A, and once she saw the SNES and Genesis Emulators she infomed me that I would not be getting my Xbox back(jacked by my own parents!). So I went out and bought myself another xbox to mod. I was going to buy another HD to install in xbox B. Then I thought about it and realized my mother isnt going to use the HD in Xbox A so Can't I put the origianl HD from Xbox a Back into Xbox A. which was what it was softmodded with? I never did the HD upgrade on Xbox A. a friend did so Im going to have to follow one of billion tuts found here. but I guess my question is can i just unlock the hd in Evox pop the origianl HD (which should be already modded)in and relock the hd and good to go? Then im guessing reformat the 120gb hd and follow the tuts on installing it to the new box correct?

if you unlock a hd on a softmodded box you will be s.o.l on bootin it back up until you lock it back with your pc . as long as you have the eeprom.bin backup you should be all set .

Why can't you give your parents xbox b? You should have enough space on it for the emulators.

S10 knows what he's talking about and i agree. Don't unlock the hdd if you don't have to, because if you don't have the eeprom you will be sol. So if i were you i'd backup the eeprom by running an exploit (sid5) and then ftping the eeprom back to your comp. Then you can mess around with all the files without consequence.

As long as Xbox A's drive is locked with that specific eeprom from that specific motherboard it will boot. If you tried putting Xbox B's drive in Xbox A you would get an Error 6 "Xbox can not unlock hard drive".

So yes it will work but if i were you i'd just give them xbox B.

well I took this as an oppertunity to do up this xbox differently then Xbox A. Which I painted cleared the jewel and LED the controller ports. I dont want to put the HD from Xbox B into Xbox A. I still have the original HD from Xbox A. Would that make it any easier?
