I Was recently thinking about how someone would go about puting 2 movies onto one DVD Media disc with all the Extras and have the DVD start up then give a screen asking what Movie you want to see. I think that would be very neat and cool but the quality would be low unless double layer discs were used anyway anyone else have any thoughts on this.
Thanks for your input, However I dont know how to go about making such a DVD, would anyone please explain how to do this thanks.
Fortunately for me I wasn't being sarcastic or facetious. Literally, you answered your own question. Unless you use standard dual layer dvd's, there is no way in H you are going to be able to do what you are asking. Unless you compress 100% of the DVD. The quality on that would be horrid, considering you'd only have a black screen. If you would like help for creating a dual layer with specific software, I'm sure many people in here would be glad to help. However, your request my friend is not possible on single layer 4.7g media. Good luck!
OK now I see what you meen, but what about those movies that do not need compression because they are all ready DVD5 Type Discs, would a little compression on them hurt the Quality anymore then compressing a DVD9 Disc to A DVD5 Disc.
A main movie is normally somewhere in the vicinity of 3-4 1/2 gigs. If you are including the menus, extras and both movies you still wouldn't be compressing only a little. It'll never work.
rp_024 is right. Unless you have compressed both the dvds and used a dvd with a large capacity, your task will be difficult to complete. However if the quailty of the files is less than average it is likely they will be a smaller file making it easier to fit on a disc. What are you using to copy / rip the original content? And do you know the size of the files?
Hi thanks for your input on the subject. To answer your questions about The size of the Content I did not have a specific DVD to backup in mind but I would probably use DVD5 discs that are not yet compressed originals if I may, and they would be copied to my hard drive using iether DVD Decrypter or DVDfab Decrypter maybe even DVD shrink it all depends on how the DVD's Cooperate with the Program but those are the main Programs I use to decrypt DVD's. I also have Nero 7 at my disposal. Any word on how to put two DVD,s onto One Disc with trailers and all would be apreciated. Thanks

He wants to put two originals onto one DVD5 with all menus + extras. You're looking at approximately 18-19 gigs onto a 4.7gig single layer DVD. Sentagram, I see you are a junior member; meaning, you've been around here a bit and I assume you are pretty familiar with formats, sizes, and so forth. This is not possible unless you've converted your DVD to some other compressed format like lets say xvid.avi, divX or ratDVD. If you reencoded back to DVD from the xviD or divX, you would have a smaller grainier playback. At this point you may be able to swing the crunch onto one DVD5. If you used ratDVD to compress both movies, you could definitely get both on one DVD5 but your tele dvd player won't recognize. Either way you cut it, you are not going to get quality, or in your case, "putting two movies with everything onto one disc" anything worth viewing. I will hang around to see what anybody else comes up with though. Whatever it is, is still going to be the same result.
Once again thank you for your input and explanation of how bad the quality would be, I am wright now compressing both Discs for the Movie Kindom of Heaven to be able to fit on to one Disc using Nero,DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. I do believe you that the quality will be realy bad probably worse then VHS quality but I am just doing it as a test and will just play the result on my Computer as to not waste a disc. I would like to know what you think about puting the two first Hellraiser movies on one disc and what you thing the result in Quality would be in that Situation. Keep in mind that I do not disagree with you.
