I recently bought a Sapphire Radeon HD 2600XT graphics card for its decent gaming attributes and HDMI-connection. The card has an integrated sound chip or something so I just need the HDMI-cable to get both sound and video to my HDTV in another room. I also use a LCD computer display for normal day-to-day stuff in my room. I've plugged both to the graphics card, so - when I feel like it - I can play games using both the normal display and the HDTV. I get audio to the HDTV thru the HDMI-cable, but then I lose the audio from my speakers (plugged to the integrated sound card that came with the nForce4-board). I can switch between them using the audio controls in XP (speaker button in the low right corner), but I'd really like to know if it's possible to get the sound both from the HDTV and my own speakers simultaneously. So my question is: Can you get audio from a sound card and Sapphire Radeon HD 2600XT both at the same time?
I believe you can, but only if they're separate programs. You can't get the sound from one application to come out of both at once.
