200GB MAXTOR HDD PROBLEMS !!!

I have a Maxtor 200GB HDD and when i install it into my ps2 i can only use a total of 125 GB. Is there i program that can active the rest of the space to use ?? Please help me out

 

You are probably using an old firmware. Make sure you update your firmware that supports larger HD's

 

Are you using HD Advance 2.0? That's what you will need to use if you want to access the entire drive.

It's not likely a firmware issue. Are you using HD Loader or HD Advance to access the HDD and if you are using Advance, which version?

 

HD Loader does not support hard drives larger than 137GB which works out to about 125GB according to HD Loader.

 

well at the moment i am using HDloader the one with the blue loading screen.

 

so does that mean HD advance support a higher disk space then the Hd loader ?

 

HD Advance 2.0 has large HDD support. I'm not certain but I think it's limit is right about 200GB.

 

so that means it will allow me to use all the space in my hdd with HD Advance 2.0 .

 

Yes it should but you might have to start all over again and reformat the drive to get the remaining space. HD Advance will do that for you but you will lose any games you already have installed on it.

 

alright thx alot i also think HD Advance 2.0 does support 200GB Maxtor HDD but where can i get that program ?? ... oh well

HD Advance 2.0 supports over 300gb HDs. When I installed it, it recognized 279gb of space. I wish 500gb HDs were cheapier ... I would have tried that ...
