avi2dvd using quenc 2 pass vbr hi keeps giving me dvds that are 23.976. why won't avi2dvd do the pulldown for 23.976 to 29.97??

what's weird is, avi2dvd will frameserve a 25fps avi to quenc at 23.976fps and then pulldown the resulting 23.976 encoded video.

but it encodes a 23.976fps avi to 23.976 and then skips the pulldown step. why???

Have you looked in the Avi2Dvd log for a clue ?

I would assume because the 23.976 source is progressive. What does Gspot say?

the little "prog" label isn't lit up...

nothing abnormal in the avi2dvd logs.. it just skips the pulldown step completely

Is the pulldown an option in avi2dvd, or is it supposed to be
invoked automatically? Does the problem occur with all 23.976
avi's that you have, or just this one? If it's just this one,
I'd examine it very carefully in Gspot and/or virtualdub.
